.“This year, I have switched to a Parthenaise bull to cross with my Blonde d’ Aquataine & Charolais cross cows. Although I was delighted with the performance of last years calves on the Nugget Super Weanling ration, I think this years Parthenaise cross calves look to have even better potential.

Last year I introduced the creep feeder a bit earlier than usual & got the calves started on Nugget Cooked Calf No.2 By early October the calves were fully weaned & eating 4 kgs/day of Grennans Nugget Super Weanling ration. I think the combination of earlier weaning & good intake of top quality creep feed really paid off because by November 16^th they were on average 420kgs liveweight”.

Olive achieved an average daily live weight gain of 1.67 kilos from birth with last years crop of April born weanlings..

.Having very successfully used Nugget rations on his sheep flock, Tom decided to try Nugget Super Weanling as the creep feed for the weanlings.

“I found this ration to be very palatable; intakes & weight gain were very satisfactory from the start. In 2003 we had one animal sold for €1240, having won 3^rd prize overall at a Belgian Blue Elite sale. This year we are hoping for similar successes.
