Manufacturing Process

To service our expanding customer base as effectively as possible, we have installed modern, high capacity feed, seed and fertiliser manufacturing facilities at Rath. The fact that we are packaging feeds, seeds and fertilisers on the same site at Rath means we can offer our customers great choice, flexibility, excellent service and great value for money.

Our feed mill at Rath has a 25 tonnes per hour capacity, and one of the most modern animal feed packaging & palletising systems available. Each individual tonne of Nugget feed is mixed individually in a highly accurate computerised mixing unit. This ensures accuracy down to a minute level and guarantees absolute consistency in each formulation.

The fertiliser plant in Rath is state of the art & extremely accurate. It will blend at up to120 tonnes per hour. A vital part of our Target fertiliser joint venture business, was the recent construction of a totally new, high capacity, fertiliser plant beside Belview port in Waterford, along with 64,000 sq. ft of storage.

Cereal & Bean seed assembly has been an important avenue of growth for Grennans also. It involves the careful selection, propagation, harvesting, and storage, screening and cleaning of specific Cereal & Field Bean varieties. This business developed out of our very specific requirement for high quality raw materials for our Animal feeds business. It now ties in seamlessly with our other manufacturing processes and forms an integral part of the service and choice we want to offer our customers.
